Questions we have to decline
We are not a broker and we are not the Financial Sector Conduct Authority. Seeing your trading account, moving your money, resetting a password, releasing a withdrawal or intervening in a dispute is beyond what we can do. Anyone who writes to this address has no access to any of that.
If your money is with a firm, your broker's own support is the first step and the FSCA is the second. If a firm is not on the FSCA register, the regulator has no power to help you either, which is the whole reason this site exists.
Where the line runs
- General information about how licensing and trading work
- That is what this site publishes
- A recommendation of a broker, a pair or a position size
- Not here, and not by mail
- Anything adjusted to your income, debts or tolerance for loss
- We do not know them and never ask
- Advice as the FSCA defines it
- A regulated activity; we are not licensed for it
If you want advice, take it from someone the FSCA authorises to give it.
We do not give advice
We will not tell you what to buy, when to buy it, how much to risk or which broker to open an account with. That is advice, it is regulated in South Africa, and we are not licensed to give it. Mail asking for it gets a polite no.
Where something on this site was worked out, we will explain it; where a claim rests on a public source, we will point at it; and where a page reads as though it were advice, we will fix it.
| Step | What happens | When |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · You write | The page address and what the correct value is | Any time |
| 2 · We check it | Against the public source you name, not against our own page | Same week |
| 3 · The page changes | The figure is replaced and the page says it was corrected | With the date on it |
A number is never quietly edited to leave the page looking as though it always said that.
Business correspondence
Advertising, link placement and content partnerships: the answer is no, and the same address takes it. On every page that uses it, this site discloses one commercial relationship, and placement is not sold in anything that looks editorial.
Press and researchers are welcome. What you are working on and what you need, please tell us.

Send us a note
The address is [email protected]. We read everything and answer most mail within three working days. Writing to us creates no account and costs nothing, as we have no login, no newsletter and no customer records.
When writing about a particular page, please enter the page address in the subject line. This is the quickest route to getting the right person to read it.
| Party | What it sees | Why it is there |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Pages | The request, your IP and browser string, in its own logs | It serves the files |
| The broker, after you follow a partner link | Whatever its own site collects, under its own policy | You left this site |
None of it passes through us, and we build no profile from any of it.
Setting a figure straight
A correction is the most useful mail we get. If a figure, a licence number or a date on this site is wrong, tell us what it should be and where you checked it - the FSCA register, the broker's own terms, a regulator's notice.
The page is amended and carries a statement that it was corrected, dated. We avoid making silent changes to figures that leave the page appearing to have always shown them.
| What it is | How it is marked | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| A partner link to a broker | Marked sponsored, behind a label saying where it goes | The broker may pay us if you open an account |
| The register extract | Copied from the regulator | Nobody can pay to be in it, out of it, or described differently |
| Everything else on the page | Not for sale | No editorial placement, no paid ranking |
You pay nothing extra for using a partner link, and the payment changes nothing on the page.
Questions we are asked
Most mail is answered within three working days. Reading starts with corrections, because the one thing worth dropping everything for is a wrong figure on a page about money.
No. No client funds are held by us, and we have no standing with any firm. The FSCA is the body with powers here, and only over firms on its register.
We do not rank or review brokers. We publish what the FSCA register says and how to read it, so the check stays yours.
